Hey everyone, we were all asked by the author to post entries about school and life and whatever on here once in a while, and surprise, I’m the first one. I thought I would write entries about our school, Morrison High, once in a while since I have an unhealthy amount of information about Morrison in my head.
Morrison High School was established in a side room of the old Washington School House 1904, and the first class graduated in 1906 with a grand total of 4 students. The first real building for the high school was built in 1914, and then the building that currently houses Morrison High School was completed in 1950. There is no air conditioning.
The Morrison High School Mascot is a moose named, prepare for this shocker, Morris! It’s kind of difficult to cheer at games since the plural form of “moose” is still “moose” so usually people shout “Go Moose Herd!” Not me, though, Eden and I have had intense discussions on how silly “Go Moose Herd” sounds. The mascot is the moose because there are a lot of moose around here and before all the houses and roads were built around the school it was not unusual to spot a moose. There’s a superstition that if a moose is spotted on school grounds the day of a football game, Morrison will win. Which may explain why we’ve had two winning seasons in the last ten years.
There you go, a Morrison Minute. Come back next for some more tidbits.
I made the site over to look more like my main page.
New Pages are coming in December.
